Our Brief

To design, plan and print a Newsletter, combined with printing a company branded envelope and arranging the customer database in order to dispatch. Use Mailsort with Royal Mail – to get the best postage rates available. 

Recently Mark Kitley, a Director of Rawlins Davy - one of Bournemouth’s largest and longest established Solicitors and Mediators - approached us as he wanted to keep in contact with their clients, many of whom were working from home. We agreed that clients would appreciate the informative approach in this current difficult period.

The format of the Newsletter was discussed; a key point was that it must have strong graphical content and branding to ensure the Newsletter would stand out from other mail. Mark provided several interesting and topical content articles aimed at advising and informing the recipient rather than taking a direct sales approach. Mark asked Stephen Bath - an excellent local photographer - to provide a range of photographs to accompany the varied copy that was supplied, resulting in a full 8 page Newsletter. After two drafts (proofs) where copy was carefully checked, we were ready to go to print. 

Using an uncoated and recyclable 170g paper - which would achieve the desired effect of being a tactile and easy to read Newsletter, we printed 1000 copies, along with a matching C4 envelope and a printed Royal Mail PPI stamp. We then used specialised software to remove out of date content from the supplied database and applied the addresses to the envelopes and sorted the mailing by post code for collection by Royal Mail. Within four days the Newsletter was dropping through letterboxes all over Dorset and beyond and we were keen to contact Mark to see if he thought the exercise was all that he hoped for - Mark’s comments were interesting.
